Elite Race
The Elite Race is the crown jewel of the Al Salam Championship and one of the largest cycling races in the region! It brings together the passion and determination of amateurs, the strength of professional champions from the UAE and GCC, along with a select group of world-class athletes who raise the competition to the highest level.
What truly sets this race apart is that each edition begins at a unique landmark in Dubai — a cultural, historical, or economic symbol — showcasing the city’s global identity. From there, the race takes its thrilling course all the way to Al Qudra in the stunning Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, where the beauty of the desert meets the excitement of world-class cycling.

Participation in this race is limited to Emirati amateurs, national team players, UAE residents with valid residency, and national team players from GCC countries.

Participation is open to those aged 19 years and above.

The bicycle must not weigh less than 6.8 kg.

Each rider must wear two race numbers on the lower back and one number on the bicycle.

All signboards indicating the race start, distance covered, and remaining distance will be displayed along the race route.

Replacement of tires, wheels, or bicycles is permitted, as well as waiting for a teammate who has crashed or been involved in an accident (applies to riders of the same team only).

Pushing between riders is strictly prohibited under all circumstances, as it will result in disqualification.

All riders are allowed to exchange food and beverages during the race.

Support vehicles must position themselves on the roadside against the wind direction within a range of 50 meters.
